Treatment of atrial fibrillation is enhanced by our new Hybrid Operating Room, which opened in 2010. The room combines a traditional operating room with the advanced imaging systems of a catheterization lab. For arrhythmia patients, this means that electrophysiologists (specialists in abnormal heart rhythms), interventional cardiologists (specialists in minimally invasive procedures) and cardiac surgeons can collaboratively perform procedures on patients, resulting in better outcomes for patients. Learn about these physicians

Our atrial fibrillation program features unique, long-term follow-up that meticulously monitors each patient’s medical progress and quality of life in the months and years after Maze surgery.

Patients are surveyed regularly and outcomes data is continuously reviewed. The information is used to evaluate risks and benefits of the Maze procedure, tailor medications, drive research and develop new, less invasive treatments for future patients.
